Who is Eligible to Enter this Competition?

Journalists and creators working in any medium (written word, graphic, digital, photographic, audio, or video), and are routinely paid for the type of work they are entering, are professionals for purposes of this competition.  Local, national, or international professionals are welcome to apply. 

Professional Journalists

Community journalists and creators working in any medium (written word, graphic, digital, photographic, audio, or video),  may be professionals, freelance, or lay contributors to local publications; such as, religious community newsletters, social clubs, schools,  scouts, citizen groups, social benefit organizations, or online communities. 

Community Journalists

Students, creators, and journalists ages 18 - 24 who are passionate and compassionate storytellers with a particular constituency, group, or organizational target, are welcome to apply.

Prizes

With $30,000 in prizes, we are seeking stories or opinion pieces. 

  • Two prizes for stories or opinion pieces in the same entry category, $7,500 each.

  • Two prizes for community stories or opinion pieces in the same entry category, $5,000 each.

  • Two prizes for stories or opinion pieces in any entry category, $2,500 each.

The William and Mary Greve Foundation (“the Sponsor”) and Making Peace Visible Story Awards present the 2025 Goldziher Prize competition.
